No more golden watch…

There is no such thing as a job for life or the golden watch, those days are long gone. You now have to be multi-talented, multi-skilled and think outside the box.

This is NOT your grandparents era…

Life is So Precious and Yet Extremely Fragile

One day, one hour and one minute will never come again.

Recently, scrolling through Instagram and saw one of my friends posted that they are doing well and thank you for all the well wishes. I immediately DM to enquire what was wrong? Only to hear that they were robbed and shot, while this news left me speechless for a moment – it got me thinking about my mortality and how I view death. What would you do differently if you knew you were going to die tomorrow? When you look back before you say goodbye, what will you regret if you don’t make changes ? Maybe you would gather the courage to quit your job or repair a broken relationship. Perhaps you would travel or finally pursue your dream to be an entrepreneur. Whatever the action, it would likely bring you closer to your authentic self.

Reading my friends post reminded of the futility and fragility of our lives – how we postpone living thinking that time is promised to us. I wondered about how suddenly and ruthlessly the day and life of my friend had been changed within a fraction of a second. Imagine the course of the rest of the year for him and his family, and friends

– A police officer may have called or visited his home and informed his loved ones – All his loved ones may have assumed the worst and panicked. Their day and life would be changed suddenly as they made their way to the hospital.

It shouldn’t take colossal amounts of pain to open our eyes to the beauty of what we have. We tend to allow the wonders that are happening all around us to fall by the wayside as we wallow in fear and self-pity, complete with stress and anxiety on things we have no control over. it shouldn’t work like that. However, it does because we all take this precious life for granted at one point or another in our lives.
